Call of duty direct x error

Yesterday it was working, todya it isnt, i'm on a 2 day new install of vista, and no im not running xfire (the game communicator).. i've got a asus p5q pro, and a 4850.. please help....

i get the following error message "direct x has recovered from an unrecoverable error"..

Last time you updated Direct X ?
There is a June 2008 release you running this ?

yes im 99% sure, as i'm sure i updated yesteray, and it was working yesterday..

".. on board sound.. realtek HD

its not the error caused by the sound drivers (the one you can fix by plugging in a microphone.. its somethign else...)

.. well i dont think it is at least.. atm i'mreinstalling cd4, and reinstalling ati 4850 hotfix.. lets hope this works..

CMONNNNNN YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ... it seems the reinstalling the ati 4850 hotfix solved it...
