This game is really munchy and even with 2x7800's + fx60 the fps drop to 20fps and with a bad 'jerk' when walking through the grass.
Its strange as even when only using SM2 the fps stay the same, maybe the game needs a Conroe or its the sheer number of polygons needed by the grass?

I've tinkered with the settings and found a good performance/IQ combination:
low shadow quality (not much different IQ than high)
low foliage quality (not much different IQ than high)
set nvidia driver settings to render 1fps ahead (dunno if ATI has this).
edit the video.scr settings in notepad which are located in 'my documents' and change textures to 16bit (can't tell difference anyway).

doing the above removes the bad 'jerk' when walking through the grass which was very annoying. Hope this helps...

mm I have everything possible at its highest, all bells and whistles so to speak, I average about 40fps, never drops so that I see shudders or freezing, my spec is in sig, gfx card @ xtx speed

My sig is spelt as I wanted it.

With this game being the latest incarnation of graphics technology on the PC I just thought there'd be a mass rave about how awful it performed, like with BF2.

I've also found its good to de-frag C: where there are 3000 shader files stored, so to improve loading times.

Yeah I average about 50fps though some places are munchy and no matter what the resolution is or detail level the fps drop a lot.
