Does everyone else get like low 20's in the REALLY grassy bits? Im running it maxed out 1280x1024 with 4xaa and 16xaf and for the most part its smooth (like 40-70fps depending on where you are) but as soon as i hit a heavily vegetated area it goes to like 20fps at one point down to 17 :(.

Also the shadows seem a little wierd, like when i move my character, far off shadows sort of move with him..its hard to explain.

Anyone else get very low fps in heavy foilage bits?

Or any tips, fixes, drivers anyone recommends

(absolutely loving the game by the way)

This games a killer tbh, I play 1680x1050 4xAA 16xAF its normally around 40-70FPS but then when I get into the forest or w.e ive noticed it to go as low as 25FPS, I think its the shadows that do it.

Same here although I have only played the demo.

The initial part of walking into the town my FPS are smooth however if I walk into the grass areas to the left of the church the fps plummet.

Its not unplayable however its annoying.

yeh thats what i get it. The game itself is extremely playable and in the town my fps is normally in the 50's, inside its like 80+. Its just annoying noticing the dip into the mid 20's every now and then.

Yeah same problem here, is great in most places but is less than 20FPS in the wild terrain. Is the same with all the settings turned down, even on the shader model 2 mode. And the loading times take SO long!!

what more do you expect? its just a modified chrome engine which was very badly programmed and full of bugs in the original chrome game. they should have started with a whole new engine from scratch.

For once I agree with you, they could have at least supplied some more patches.

well, i've just enforced 16xqaa,triple buffering and v-sync in the control panel and played through the entire second reverand level at like 50+fps. still getting mid 20's in dense terrain though.

Ah well guess i'll have to put up with it :p , its still very playable.

If this is on about the DX9 one, I play at 1280x1024, HDR enables, basically everything maxed in games and around 60fps in the town and 25 is the lowest in mega grass and stuff like that, with 8xAA/AF its a lag fest though :(

hm maybe i should just play without AA for silky smooth framerates. But ive kinda got used to the bits in their twenties now and it is nice having no jaggies at all. I 've got to admit its a good looking game, but i don't see why oblivion is like 50fps+ in foliage areas and this is 20+, if anything oblivion still looks nicer
