Call of Juarez slow on 8800GTS

OK, so this is my first post here, though I have been on the forums for a long time.

My question is, I just recently purchased a 8800GTS 320mb and it's frankly - amazing. On the lost coast benchmark I got 125 FPS on all max setting which I'm very pleased with! But, I ran the call of Juarez benchmark on it and my average framerate was something like 22?? As you can imagine it ran like a dog.

Have other people experienced similar problems when running the game? My system is no slouch at 3ghz E6300, 2GB crucial RAM and whatnot. Any takes on this?

It is? I've read a few other dodgy reports on the net about it. It was one of the first things I tested the new card and I couldn't belive that a £200 odd card couldn't run it smoothly.

Just thought I'd see what other peoples experiences have been like

Thanks

I get the same, average framerate at 1280*1024, 4xMSAA/16xAF was 25fps and it looked like there wasn't any FSAA as there were lots of jaggies.

I thought it didn't even look that good :(

yeah as above, COJ runs pretty poor on every card in Dx10, proper Dx10 games that aint just Dx10 patched should run a lot better, like Bioshock in a couple of weeks, the developers said an 8600 GTS got about 40fps in that in Dx10, 1280x1024, high details, so 320mb GTS should hammer through it. :D

Welcome to the forums btw. :)

Thanks for all the replies, and cheers for the welcome LoadsaMoney. To be honest, 90% of the reason I bought the card was purely to play Bioshock on it!

COJ has 2 alternate version, dx9 and dx10, its not just a patch adding dx10 features.

COJ was buggy a year ago and it's not much better now, infact the DX10 version is probably worse not that we have to worry as we will probably never see a DX10 patch for the european version. :)
