Calling All Broadband Users/ BT Engineers.

What does the router say your connected at, and what does the BT Speedtest say your IP profile is?

Where did you get BT telling you they want >£100? Your contact is with Pipex: there's no one at BT that you can speak to who can help.
 
The router says I'm connected at 1738 down and 288 up.

I'm not sure about the IP profile? We spoke to BT to see if we had any problems with our line. They said that Pipex would have to sort out the problem, although they could send a broadband engineer out to have a look, at the cost mentioned.

There's instructions in the sticky for running the BT Speedtest. If that speed's stable, you should be on the 1.5Mbps IP profile.

BT told you the right thing - you need to deal with Pipex.
