Hi Guys

This Christmas I bought a Kindle for a family member. Cut a long story short the damn thing wont connect our access point. We get the error "unable to connect" and everything ive tried fails. Disabling Security, switch channels, reboot router and make sure mac filtering is off.

The access point is a DG834N which has never had any issues. It has multiple laptops and smart phones roaming on it. The unit also fails with other networks.

Heres where it gets frustraiting. Amazon sent us a replacement, which does the same thing. All updates applied to Kindle.

Any sudgestions will be greatfully apreciated.

Thanks
Matt

Have you had a look through Kindleboards? There seem to be quite a few people who have a similar problem but there doesn't seem to be a consistent way to resolve the issue. Does the Kindle work on a different router? Maybe check it at a free Wifi hotspot or something.

The unit also fails with other networks.

Sorry didnt make this very clear. The original has been tested on other AP's I have leing around and shows the same issues. Its also very sketchy whether it finds any access points. The same unit is showing the same issues.

When I tried connecting my mother's kindle to her homehun it showed an error twice, but on the second attempt left the error and a few minutes later it connected and is now running fine.
