calling all LOTRO players

hi guys im starting lotro with 2 other friends and we are total noobs :p so i have a few questions:

- What would be a good server to start on? i hear snowbourne is good ?
- What would be a good class combo for us 3?
- Are there any flawed classes? i mean useless at max level or something
- We are playing the free trial at the moment, can we juste upgrade it to a full account or do we need to buy the box ?
- Are instances more like 2-3 monsters per fight or do you fight large amount of monsters(like in the movie :p)

well snowbourn is the most popular of the servers with a majority of OcUK's playing on there...
regarding the classes they are all great to play and have their uses, but if your going to all be playing together a balanced group could consist of a Guardian,Minstrel/Loremaster,Champion/Captain , just try them all ...
the Quests and instances come in all shapes and sizes ranging from defending or escorting an NPC through mobs to fighting an elite signature

the game is solo friendly upto and around lvls 20-25, then the Quests require fellowship groups and the Epic Quests start taking shape, some are fantastic.
there are many Ocuk'ers playing who will help you ingame with advice and quest help, so add us all to your friends list , i'm usually playing under 'eek' 'tega' 'peloquin' all officers in Unseen Servants a rank 9 kin .. good luck and have fun

Ultra dx10 is where its at hehe, tbh theres no difference between dx9 or dx10 i can see ... i've put a few pics in the 1280 screen shot thread this morning that might give you an idea of Ultra-high settings

I have notice some stuff on the dx10, shadows seem better, seems to be a little FOV blurring and I found it runs a little smoother.

hardly worth the extra processing power then specially in 24 man instances or EM's PvMP, its the difference between 'High' and 'Ultra-High' settings you see a far greater amount of detail something that really makes the scenery stunning in parts.

I believe its still beta so there is much room for improvment.

A step in the right direction I think.

But your right, some parts are jaw dropping.

Finally managed to got the laptop working so ive installed now. Unfortunately the downloads through the launcher are taking forever today (im getting ~5kbps) So im downloading each of the standalone patches and hoping the launcher is fixed by tomorrow.

Can anyone recommend some decent quest help/item listing sites for lotro, sort of like allakhazam and thottbot for wow.

Thanks

There are different clients for US/Europe servers!!!???!! so the last 6 hours downloading the LOTRO US Installer I guess means only US servers?

Nuts I should learn to read more :( I take it I need to download the client from the LOTRO Europe site?
