In the time honoured tradition of asking questions to which there is no answer, is it worth getting a 5820k over a 4670k? I game and browse. No rendering, video encoding or anything else associated with high cpu demand. I'm not desperate to spend an extra £150-200 if I don't need to. BUT! I'll probably not upgrade it for 4 or 5 years.
I've got a q6600 now and back then the conundrum was between a slower clocked quad or a higher clocked duo. The two core was faster in games at the time but the quad has arguably lasted much better.
