Got this mouse and its excellent however when i startup it auto selects the 2nd speed when i use the fastest speed for windows and fast paced games.

is there a way to set it to select the fastest setting @ startup.

My G5 does the same, but I've never installed the logitech mouse software, so I assumed that was the reason (And it's only 1 click of a mouse button to correct, so it's never bothered me). Have you installed the Logitech software?
 
Setpoint 4.6 and below are all good, not sure if they fixed 4.7 all those bugs, must have by now. But avoid that if its still the latest one.
