Hello boys and girls....

I'm hoping someone can help with the design of a logo for a new business my father is setting up in the Philippines. It's gonna be a fast-food joint and we are looking for a logo that incorporates elements from other more famous logos.
The main fast-food restaurant in the Philippines is Jollibee and it is well recognised across the country. Its logo features the Jollibee name and a cartoon bee head slightly above it. We are looking to create something similar using the name of our restaurant 'MadSarap'.

This is where I'm gonna try and explain how we want it to look lol...
We'd like the M to be curved into almost a heart-shape and coloured yellow around the top so it looks a bit like the McDonalds logo from a distance. We'd also like the writing to look very similar to the Jollibee logo in style and colour but with a different picture above it - possibly one of the Bratz girl's heads.

I know this is asking a lot but I'd be uber appreciative if someone could havea go at knocking something together before I start learning Photoshop myself hehe.

Thanks in advance...
Devo

Sounds like your are trying for a couple of copyright infringments.

There's no such thing as copyright in the Philippines - believe me, but I can see where you're coming from... for example they have a coffee shop there called Starbox which actually used the Starbucks logo and writing lol

£25k please ;)

Why not create your own logo instead of stealing other's ideas, you scab?

Errr - stealing others ideas... why reinvent the wheel when you can attract attention with visual styles that are similar to well-known symbols?
But thanks for your useful input nonetheless

Don't see why you want it looking like a cheap knock off of an existing logo. I don't really know the Philippine market though.

Its not difficult..

The McDonalds M is instantly recognisable. From a distance you may think its a McDonalds.. either way you are thinking "hey, there's fast food over there".

The local chain clearly has an established brand. This guy wants to ride off the back of this.

It's not stupid if there is no law there to protect companies like we have, that would be the stupid part. It depends on the likeness of the design too.. I wouldnt say Narziss' design infringes anything but maybe a bit of weeble and bob.

Because you are masquerading as those you are stealing design from. You are trying to steal their custom by fooling the punter into thinking they will be spending their money at their chain, not yours. Scab.

You've hit the nail on the head ;)

Haha - not masquerading as anyone. People will clearly NOT think they are spending there money somewhere else. It's just a visual ploy to get people to look twice and think 'there is a fast food joint there'.

Don't worry though I'm sure we're not going to put McDonalds out of business, so your job is safe.

You're openly stealing ideas from others logos, and yet you claim you are not masquerading as them? You've even agreed with gord that you are trying to trick people into thinking your shop/burger van/whatever has someone else's brand.

Wow, someone contradicts quite a bit, don't they?

Me personally, would take pride in creating my own distinct brand that sets me apart from the rest but thats just me.
Fair enough when you have your own USP, but in the fast-food market - where product choice and quality are going to be equal - it's not a sensible design solution.

People in search of fast food want familiarity and consistency without having to think; every bit of help a sign can give to get them to make their choice will go a long way.
