Where do I begin?

Yesterday at work I did something stupid and would like to know how to stop it.

I sent an email to a mailing list of customers at work, Merry Christmas Note and it was to around about 150 to 200 people.

I gets to work this morning and have 5000 read receipts and is still coming in from the same people, it looks like I sent the same message 100's of time but I only sent it the once.

I've spent all day crying and apologising, majority of the recipients found it quite funny to begin with but one's threatened to or is taking the company to court because I made their server crash and it costs them to receive messages onto blackberry systems (MB wise)

We've checked my computer No viruses and only the one record of it going through. Checked the company server same thing once and even the external email provider that says I sent it the once.

I don't understand how this has happened, apart from responding the the people that have emailed back to ask them to block sender list me I don't know how else to fix it?

Please help me

Linda

I've been onto them all day trying to sort it out that's how I found out about the computer, server and external provider :)

Get a new IT department... this one obviously doesn't know what it's doing :D

With out looking at the emails being sent and received I can't really help

If it's Exchange based, the only way to explain what's happened would be tracking the messages via the Exchange server. If everything looks normal in your own personal Outlook, the problem has occurred somewhere else along the way.
