I am trying to find the name of a device we had in school in the 90s for teaching reading. My google.exe is failing.

The card would have a tape strip on it, you could write anything on the card, for example Magnolia, the teacher would put the card in the machine and record on their voice saying Magnolia. Then when you put the card in the machine, you would hear the teachers voice.

Edit I clearly need the machine detectives :o
 
Califone Cardmaster?

We had one of these at primary school. We'd record dirty words onto them and put them back in the pile. Ah... the joys of youth.
 
The hearing impaired unit at my junior school had them (mid to late 80s) for whatever reason possibly hearing tests - only place I've encountered them.

That's the one but I think we had a different brand

Can't seem to find to buy one anywhere :(
