I'm published again in this week's Amateur Photographer magazine :)
They must be short of entries :D

They're featured some shots I sent in of Liverpool.

Do they pay ?

Nice pics BTW - you should at least get them onto stock sites.... You might even get a bit of cash for them.

Splendid pictures! Congratulations :)

Thank you all very much :)

Yes, they pay 50 of your Britisher pounds, if they use your shots.
I do use a stock agency.
I've noticed I don't get many people looking at my website though, even though it's a national magazine.

Congrats! Wish i could publish my work to someone but don't take photos that would sell :D

Great shots, I could have done with your advice while in st Peters basilica yesterday!

Thank you :)
My personal choice when shooting interiors, is to use a tripod (when possible) and go for a symmetrical composition.
Check your histogram for blown out shadows and highlights and bracket when needed.

I recommend giving it a go and send some shots to the magazine.
If you look on the Amateur Photographer website for the Reader's Spotlight section, you should find an email address.
Then send 10 low res photos via email, they'll contact you to send the high res versions, if they like you shots.
So at first, it will only cost the price of an email.

Thank you :)

That's my usual technique, so at least I'm on the right track! How do you blend exposures where needed? Do you use HDR software (I can never get a natural look with it :/ ) or do you paint on layers in PS for the bits that need it, or something else altogether?

I prefer to paint on the layers.
I only use HDR software, when I'm lazy :D
Then I turn it into a B&W, just so it doesn't look a mess.

nice one mate!

Thank you very much :)

haha, that's what I do as well with the mono conversion. I always find it hard to paint in the layers without there being an obvious line between the two layers. Do you use a low opacity brush at the edges or just 100%?

Sorry for all the questions, I love shooting churches/cathedrals/interiors and I'd love to be able to produce shots as clean as yours.
