Cambelt Replacement on MKII Mondeo

Hi there,

Does anyone know how often the Cam belt needs replacing on a 1.8 zetec?

My 2000 reg mondeo lx has done 74K and I'm not sure whether the CAM belt has been replaced (there are only service stamps in the service history - no details).

Is there any way to tell how much life there is left in the cam belt. I don't want to suffer an engine failure.

Out of interest, how much would a ford garage charge to do it.

100,000 miles or 10 years. Ford garage will charge either £120ish or £220ish depending on if they decide to replace the tensioners or not - as it's not a required thing on the Blacktop Zetec's.
