Camber angles

When I got my current car, the driver's side front tyre on my car was worn down in a band on the inner edge - and the steering arm on that side was bent (a little).
The tracking was out, as expected, now corrected.

I now want to check the camber. As I understand it, incorrect camber can also cause that kind of wear pattern.

The camber for my car is supposed to be this: -0 °34’ ± 45’ (-0.57° ± 0.75°)

I hung a plumb bob in front of the wheels and (roughly) measured the difference from vertical, between top and bottom of the rim.
Passenger side, the difference is less than 1mm.
Driver side, it looks like 5mm or so. The top is further in than the bottom ie negative camber, and that would agree with the wear pattern, I guess.

Can someone work out what the camber angle is from a 5mm difference top to bottom on a 15" wheel?

:)

I'd suggest you get it checked properly mate, if your confident your measurements are somewhere near it sounds like somethings still bent.
:)

if the car isn't 100% level and flat, the measurements aren't worth anything I'd have thought.

-0.75°, or -0°45'.

Bear in mind that you only need the car to be on a very slight lean/slope for you measurement to be somewhat erroneous.
