Was Wondering if the A1 i was thinking of buying could power a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 9.1's or would i need something more powerful?

Thanks

I would go for the A5 personally, I have the A5 powering some Gale 4040's which are 120 watts.

The A1 should be about right. Wharfedale's are a bit crap (imo). The A1 is a good amp for the money. I would get some Gales like this other guy.

Slagging off Wharfedale and then bigging up Gale and Cambridge Audio?

I've got my 9.1s paired with a CA 540A. Have to say I've always been impressed but this was my first proper stereo system.

I had a Cambridge Audio A5 hooked up to a pair of 9.1s and it sound pretty good.....as already suggested I would go for the A5 over the A1. :)

seeing as i probably wont be getting the A1, would the NAD C320BEE be a good choice?
Seem's to be raved about quite a lot online

I've just gone and bought What HiFi actually and that amp got 5*'s. I was looking at getting the C352 but at 80wpc that's quite a beast.

They even do a 150wpc one for about £450. I'd be tempted to get that just to see how many speakers I could blow. ;)

I changed from an A5 to a NAD C320 (precursor to the BEE version) and I definitely found it an improvement. It won't have any trouble with the Wharfedale 9.1s.

I would suggest that you have a search for peoples views on CA products as diverse as the 640P phono stage (though maybe I am biased on this as I have one plugged into the end of my Sondek), 640C v2 and 840C CDPs and the 840A amp.
