CamCorder for £250

Well my friend is looking for a camcorder within a budget of £250.00GBP, he will be wanting something quality that will last a good few years that is preferably future proof. So if you know any good quality camcorders in that price range please tell me.

future proof in what way mate? Problem with camcorders at the moment are the HD ones costing on average 2-3 times as much as a standard definition one! If he wants something decent (dvd camcorder) you can walk into a few of your highstreet stores and pic up a canon one for about £150 at the moment which is pretty good value for money.

I've seen a few dvd camcorders for £150 - £200. Couple of Sony's, Canon's and Hitachi's all seen recently. Try and get one that writes to dvd+-r/w as well, you can re-use the discs after you've transferred and edited them....dual layer would be a bonus too
