Hi

For video streaming we currently use a old Panasonic camcorder which feeds video via its HDMI slot in to a Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle capture device. The problem is that on the camcorders HDMI output you can't turn off the icons so you see them on the video stream.

What we would like to do it buy a camcorder that has an xlr audio input and hdmi output (where screen icons can be switched off)

As we don't stream that often an older used camera would be better for our budget.

Which model do you suggest?

I'm a long way from being an expert, but since no one else has replied I'll add my thoughts.

The feature you're looking for is clean hdmi, a google should bring up a good list of models to look at.

As far as requiring xlr out. This will put you into a fairly high price bracket. I would instead look into a separate mic. A shotgun mic will probably make most sense.

You should also investigate renting equipment if it's not used often.

Thanks for the tips.

I found a few older Canon cameras that have a clean HDMI output, and while they don't have xlr they did have 3.5mm jack input.
