I'm after a decent camera bag. Preferably in the style of a back pack.

I've seen two that I like, the LowePro Slingshot 200 AW (approx £35) and the
Tamrac 5547 Adventure 7 (approx £45)

Both have plus points but I'm just curious as to which people on here would recommended or have experience of.

LowePro Slingshot 200 AW

Advantages
* Quick access to camera when packed away
* Back pack style

Disadvantages
* No room in backpack for anything else

Tamrac 5547 Adventure 7

Advantages
* More storage room on top for general items on holiday/days out
* Back pack style

Disadvantages
* Slower access to camera when packed away
* Lense of camera is against the bottom of bag, possible damage when put on floor etc

Well I've only just got my first digital SLR, and I've got the Nikon D40 with kit lens. Only other camera items I've got are spare memory cards/battery, cleaning cloth & blower. So not much kit yet.

How much can actually be fit in the top section and non-camera compartment pockets, as I would like to be able to use the bag for days out and carry some small items in, especially holidays so items like passports etc

Thanks, if the AW100 is capable I might think about that one to if its cheaper....can't moan at saving money. How do you get on with carrying other bits like drink/food/general day out/holiday items

Yeah, thanks for the recommendation clv, but i like the idea of a backpack as its less obvious that its a camera bag. Plus the slingshots seem really good at quick access to the camera when you sling it around like GeX mentioned.

Not much price difference between the 100 and 200. Only £5-10 from the prices I've seen so I might just go with the 200. Cant complain at more space :)
