Hi!

I posted AGES ago about a camera for my fathers 50th... went with a 500D.

Now I'm thinking about one for me. Someone I know is selling a 400D with the basic lens, will probably be under £200.

Would this one be OK to get me started. The 500D does seem much better in every aspect and lots of other ones do, but would it suffice for now?

Budget is a big thing to be honest!

Thanks

My view is old cameras generally fall down in two ways. One is low light performance and the other is lack of video and live view.

If neither of these are a problem then the 400D will probably be fine.

I sold my 40D for something like £200, so I would have thought a 400D would be less?

Live view and video aren't overly important, would be nice tho!

Low light sounds like an issue tho!

Well I'm speculating roughly £200 due to amazon and eBay, probably cheaper thanbe fair.

What else could be dsuggested for this price?
