Hi, I’m having a sliding gate and personal gate fitted this week at front of my property and wondering about butting a wire camera door bell on pillar for people to ring. What’s the best about ? It’s would have to be wireless it’s about 10m away from property.

Thanks

In terms of what ?
If your CCTV system captures images of people outside the boundary of your private domestic property – for example, from neighbours’ homes or gardens, shared spaces, or from public areas – then the GDPR and the DPA will apply to you. You will need to ensure your use of CCTV complies with these laws. If you do not comply with your data protection obligations you may be subject to appropriate regulatory action by the ICO, as well as potential legal action by affected individuals.

Any body help me with the best one ?

I've a Eufy E340 which is good. There may be a newer model now.

From Costco you get the doorbell and the chime unit. It's similar price on Amazon without the chime. And it looks like you get an extra £35 knocked off when you add it to your basket.

If you're not a costco member you can pay for a single year's online orders membership for ~£40.

It's battery powered but I power it with a cheap power adapter which is better if you can get a cable to it - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B1T82LQG?th=1

I can't recommend my Google/Nest wired doorbell.

Worked fine at first, but the lag between the doorbell being pressed and my phone being notified is usually 30 seconds+

On the internal google home system though it's within a few seconds.

^^^^^^^

Avoid the google stuff. It might have been ok a few years ago, but these days it's dreadful. Having the notifications 30 seconds after they press the button would be an improvement for us!

I kid you not, I was in bed the other night when my phone went off. It was from the delivery man about three hours earlier lol

also, and more annoyingly you get notifications from things outside your zone. It's got to the point we've simply turned it all off. Will swap it out for a ring or something else later this year.

TBH, 10 meters should work fine on 2.4ghz wifi which most wifi cameras are on, the max range is 45 meters/150 feet.
on 5ghz which is a strong, faster connection it's 15 meters/50 feet.

I use amazon's bink system myself and have one in the shed and that's been fine, about 6 meters, passing two brick walls.

Most of the wifi camera systems require their own hub system that they camera talk to, and it's the hub that talks to your router.
so you can have the hub in the hall way and the router in the backroom where your butler sleeps.

I use a TP Link Tapo D210. Impressed with it so far, chose it for ease of setup and the ability to use an SD card for storage so I didn't have to pay for a cloud service.

I have a Eufy and think its great.

The battery does last a long time and although there is sometimes lag to notify on the app / my phone, I also have it linked to Alexa to announce when the bell is rung on certain devices, which is almost instant.

Using Alexa also negates the need for the chime

Since moving from Ring (Had more than one model over the years) I've been very satisfied with the Reolink video doorbell that works on both 2.5ghz and 5ghz and is around 7m from the nearest Mesh connection and hard wired for power.

Video wise it is exceptional for the price, doesn't go nuts at every passing bubble bee, has no monthly charges and can be set up to an NVR Reolink box, or easy access from mobile device or desktop to an addable Micro SD card.

Currently 33% off on the forest.
