Camera Faulty

My Fuji Finepix F401 has started taking what I can only describe as psychodelic blurred images. This started out the other day. I took out the battery and memory card, formatted and left the camera for a day or 2 and it resumed normal functionality. A day later and it's taking these strange pictures again. Any of you folks know what it may be and if it can be repaired?

Hey, thank you soo much. I have just been on to Fuji, they will send me out a prepaid package for me to return the camera to them, and they will renew the CCD Sensor I nearly rushed out to buy a replacement as this camera is about 4 years old
