He's after a camera with the following properties:

-Compact
-7MP or more hopefully.
-Good quality photos - in normal light and low light.
-Fast start up speed, and fast shot-to-shot speed (low lag).
-Decent optical zoom, at least >6x.
-2.5"+ LCD screen.
-Manual functionality.

Budget - up to £250.

Compact and zoom are generally not associated. 3x is the usual 6x digital.
It does everything else very well, 8mp, good quality video, long battery, etc etc. It has a high iso setting on the dial to make quiuck shots in low light simple, M or P function, good fps.

Can you tell i own one :D
