Camera Roll & Photo stream

Dealing with a freinds old 3Gs iphone.

They want me to nback up all their images from the phone and get them on the computer.

They have two folders on the iphone.

1: Camera roll
2: Photo stream

When I plug the phone in to the computer and fire up the scanner and camera wizard, I get to sabve only the images in the camera roll.

How do I save the photo stream images?

I might be barking up the wrong tree here, but shouldn't the camera roll include all the pictures that get sent to PhotoStream?

If I look at my photo stream, it contains photos that are sat in my camera roll.

You don't.

Photo Stream is an iCloud service which sends all pictures taken on the iPhone to a folder on their PC (or iPhoto/Aperture on a Mac). Everything's stored on the iCloud servers so when they log into iCloud on a new iPhone they'll all be copied back anyway

There's a little app if they're running Windows, which will automatically sync their photostream with their PC. If they have a Mac, it'll sync magically with iPhoto as Doug says.
