I'm wondering what is the cheapest way to wire up a house with webcams, for security?
What I would ultimately like is to have some software receiving the input of all the cameras, monitoring it and making it available on line. Ideally I would like around 6 cams (2 each, upstairs/downstairs/outside)
The options I can see are:
Wireless IP cams - Start at £50 a camera - £300 just on the cameras
Wired IP cams - Cheaper, but don't have network cable everywhere I would like to have cameras
USB webcams - Needs a PC at each point I want a camera, most expensive option
Is there another way of doing this I'm not aware of, or are these my options?
