Hi all.

Unfortunately we got burgled a couple of weeks ago.

My D7100, 16-80 lens were taken along with my strap and a bag.
Insurance will pay out ok so I'm trying to decide what to replace them with and where to buy.

I still have my excellent 300F4 and teleconvertor and am extremely used to Nikon so I'm tempted to stay with Nikon unless there is a compelling reason to move brands.

The logical replacement is a D500 and 16-80 kit. The full frame cameras are a bit out of my price range and the better focus on the D500 might help me get more in focus (the 7100 was pretty good)
But if I were to change brands now might be my only chance for quite some time. Although I use my camera for other stuff wildlife photography is why I own a DSLR and I'm really buying with that in mind.
Is there anything that will be better than my 300f4 and the D500?

Grey import is vastly cheaper, so I will probably gamble with the warranty. Its a £600 saving over amazon and £700 over wex. Is this sensible? I would prefer to buy UK stock but the price difference is more than 30%.

The most annoying thing is the strap.
You can no longer get the random ebay string strap that I liked and used for 5 years.
Any recommendations for a sling strap?
Carry Speed looks very similar to what I had before has anybody tried one?
I had added a quick release plate to my old strap that attached to an L bracket on the camera, not all straps will allow this.

Grey imports are usually fine. My Dad had one and it's been fine. He eventually developed a fault with it but it would have been out of warranty anyway... He took it to a camera shop, they serviced and fixed it for £25.

Grey imports are fine I have a 7d mkii from digital rev and before that had a 70d and have purchased many lenses also and never had any problems. What would your budget be for a new camera ?.
