It is possible to use an SD card, while in a digital camera, to hold files downloaded to it via a PC?

I had to put all my photos on an old laptop which has no CD-R drive or floppy, i just got a 2gb SD camera card and am trying to copy all the photos back onto the camera from the laptop, so i can then copy them to my main PC.
Trouble is i cant seem to use the camera as another drive, what are my options?

Really wasnt sure where to put this thread since its not really photography.

It is possible, I actaully managed to convince a friend that I had taken a picture of this attractive girl topless by copying a random pic off the net onto my camera and displaying it in the preview!

If you can connect somehow the camera to your laptop then its not a problem as long as its not some 8yr old camera.
Just connect it to laptop, it should detect its card just like the USB memory, then u copy stuff there, connect it to PC, it should detect it the same way then u just copy your files from it to PC. I can do that with my EX-Z1000 without probs, you should be able to as well.

If not then you can just get cheap usb memory card reader for like 5-7quid.
Also you can try to connect both PCs via network / LPT cable or router/hub/switch to transfer files.

have a look through the camera's menu for a setting which says something like 'mass stoirage' or 'USB drive' which would change the way the PC sees the card in the camera.

Its an oldish camera, seems i cant do that. I was thinking i could use my mp3 player to hold the files? Would that work?

So you're trying to say that there is no way of transfering your files out of the camera to PC ? That would be a waste of money to have a camera on which u can just view the pictures but cant get them on PC right? ;-).

As above poster said there should be an option to tranfer files.
Also as i've said earlier you can just connect 2 pcs by network cable or transfer files by the internet.
Or just buy cheap card reader for 5quid.

Lol, that certainally would be a waste... buts thats not what i said. It was about getting the photos back onto the camera from the laptop.

I managed to get the photos off the laptop onto my mp3 player then back onto my main computer, all sorted!
