I have an old Canon M10 that has served me well but fancy getting something bigger and better around the £2k mark if possible. I mainly had the M10 as it was easy for me to travel with being compact I run an Instagram travel photography / feature page.

Due to Coroanvirus I havnt travelled much this year but think I plan on doing some street photography and maybe taking portrait photography abit more serious. Just thinking having abit more of a professional camera would do me well especially when taking photos of others.

I cant really justify £5k on a camera I would love one but think its obscene amounts of money if possible looking for somewhere to buy from with installments.

The issues if you do travel,a compact body is kind of useful IMHO. The larger sensor cameras do have some advantages but weight and size can stack up at times. I would try and handle a few cameras first TBH.

Also portrait photography is as much about lenses, and controlling the lighting,so I would try and practice your technique on your current camera first.

WRT,cameras Fuji is going to release the X-S10 soon which looks like XT30 successor and it has IBIS:

Fuji has some very good lenses, and also are known to be good out of camere colour rendition for for skin tones. One of them is the XF 56MM/F1.2 R which gets very good reviews(the reach is equivalent to an 84MM on a 35MM frame camera),and the other is compact weather sealed 23MM/F2.

Looks very good and tempting at that price for sure

My X-S10 finally turned up today after pressing Argos as it was supposed to be delivered on the 12th November.

a lot of menus compared to my old camera so a lot of adjusting to be done went with the 18-55 lens which was an option all in one for £1,300.
