Cameras and airport scanners question

Hi, i'm going on Holiday on Wednesday and I was just wondering if the airport scanners could cause any damage to my digital camera and digital video camera or to the memory cards and tapes? I will be taking them with me in my hand luggage and haven't flown before with digital cameras, just film and I remember someone telling me that the film's could sometimes get damaged with the scanners. Is it the same with digital?

Would that be a high speed film? Sorry i'm not really very good at photography talk lol
