Camping in Scotland.

Heya people, me and my gf are wanting to go camping up around Lock Lomond nad was wanting to know if anybody has ever been camping around here.

We were hoping to go camping in them iddle of the forest somewhere near but im not sure if your allowed, if not can anybody reccomend any decent camp sites

I hope to God, given you're in Prestwick, 'Lock' was a typing error.

Get in touch with the Loch Lomond National Park here. They should be able to advise.

And remember to take take lots and lots of midge repellant.

If you take lots of booze instead of midge repellent then it shouldn't annoy you so much when the little buggers are sucking the life out of you

Plenty camp sites up Loch Lomond, mainly on the west side alongside the A82. If you go the other side (Drymen, Balmaha, Rowardennen) it's a bit more "rugged" as far as I know but not so close to an off-licence (once you get past Drymen) and on the West Highland Way.
