Can a 3D monitor run ok in 2D?

Hi all,

I am looking for a decent 27" HD monitor (1920x1080).
I quite like the BenQ XL2720Z 27" TRUE 144Hz 3D Vision 2.0 Widescreen LED Monitor - Black/Red, trouble is it's 3D and I'm not sure if I can run it 2D only.

Didn't realise how confusing buying a decent 27" HD monitor could be. As my card is a ATI 280x HD is as high as I can go.

Would appreciate any info on the subject, and any suggestions.

Yes, fine in 2D as a 144hz monitor.

You'd be as well to save a bit and get this though, seeing as you are on AMD and can't even use 3Dvision.

Thanks for the info, not one I had looked at. Could be worth looking into.
