Can a DVI output run a VGA Monitor ? I'm guessing not, but I have a 6800GT with the Blue VGA Socket and the White DVI Socket and want to run two VGA monitors - can I get a DVI to VGA adapter ? Or is the signal from the DVI socket garbage to a VGA input..

I want to run my existing Iiyama 19" CRT & the new Belinea 22" TFT (this only has VGA input) together, so they are both VGA input monitors.

Can it be done ?

Thanks

On a 6800GT it's fine as it's a DVI-I output so carries both analogue and digital signals :)

I had a 6600GT with 2xDVI outputs and ran 2x analogue screens absolutely fine on it and intend to run my 17" & 19" analogue TFTs on my 6800GT when I get back to Uni.

As far as im aware most new graphics cards come with 2 DVI ports and just a DVI-VGA converter, mine certainly does. So i assume it will work fine.

Thanks for all the replies, I'll hunt out an adapter in that case, think there may have been something in the graphics card box come to think of it, I'll brave the loft later :)

Cheers
