Can a HDMI 1440p pull 144hz ?

Hi all
Been looking at several monitors this past week and I have read that anything above 60hz can not be displayed on a 1440p screen is this true ?
Also I am looking for a decent sized 29/32 curved monitor with a res of 2560x1440 any help would be much appreciated.
I am in to mmo's and rts games so I figured 1440 would be better for me than 144hz ?

Nope you can go over 60hz with 1440p, check the website mate and have a look at 144hz monitors...... Now 21:9 with 1440 at over 60hz as it stands, is problematic and expensive. Yet it is still doable Via display port that is key point, what card do you have & what ports does it have on it?
