Can a Mac standard account access the hard drive?

Hi, I've not got access to my Mac at the moment, so I can't see.

Does the standard account has access privileges to the hard drive (Mac HD) in 10.5?

No just a standard user account (not admin).

What do you mean specifically by access? Because of course it has access to the disk for it's own home folder. You get read-only access to most of the system files but a few you don't even have read permissions.

Yeah, I only want the user to have access to the home folder, and that's it. Can it be done?
