I believe you can have an outgoing text facility turned off by your service provider, but can any provider (I am with Orange) be instructed to turn off receipt of text messages? Thanks. Orange claim they cannot, as they use text to issue SIM updates, whatever that may mean. Thanks.

What phone do you have? There might be an application for it that can delete texts as they arrive. I know this can be done on Symbian based phones and probably on Windows smartphones too.

As already stated, no they can't turn it off.

If you have a smartphone of some sort, you can get a program to do it (as Desmo points out).

If you have a recent samsung handset, you could add the number/all numbers to your block number list which would mean you wouldn't see the messages.

Nope, I'm afraid you're all out of luck then :/

And there's more of us around here who remember brick phones than you realise :D
