Hey,

Bit of a weird one.

I live in a 3 storey house, me on the bottom, mum on the top and main kitchen/lounge in the middle. Basically depending on whose awake first we let the dog out (on my floor) and feed him.

I was wondering if there is anyway I can basically tell Alexa that 'The dog has been fed' and when my mum wakes up later she can ask Alex 'Has the dog been fed' and Alexa will respond Yes if I have told her, or no if not. It would basically just save my mum having to come all the way downstairs when I have already fed him etc as she has an Alexa by her bed.

Weird one I know but just curious.

There's a Drop In option on the app but that's to talk to someone in the selected room if they have an Alexa to... Not sure if you could maybe set a reminder or something for a certain time

I'll tell you what you could do to achieve this:

Get a smartplug, plug a lamp into it, set up a routine so you say "dog's fed" to Alexa and she switches on the light.

With that as the basic idea, there's a few ways you could adapt it to what you want. You can get a smart switch instead of plug if you want to just do it with the main light rather than a specific lamp.
I can't remember what they're called, but you can get a little wireless dongle which will switch any physical switch for you.

Put a sensor on the back door, and create a routine that checks if the door has been opened that morning already

Get a small screen / sign that lights up to say the dog has been fed - you can plug it into a smart switch/plug which you can use to turn it on.

Something like that.

Or more simply just leave a note on teh back door? Or text her - why would that wake her up?

Isn’t this so called Alexa+, which is being rolled out in the UK right now, supposedly able to have a history of conversation with the householders? Not sure I'd trust it over a simple whiteboard or somesuch in the kitchen, which can be used to record what others have or have not inserted in to the dog.

If she has the Alexa App on her phone she can look at voice history, so you could literally say "Alexa the dog has/has not been fed" and it would then show in the voice history logs

Register dogsbeenfed.com
Make a basic site like "isitchristmas"
