Can an IDE cable fit into a Floppy drive socket?

Give it a rub, should grow a bit then...:D

:D

But seriously... A floppy connector has a different size plug, and there should be a seperate socket for it on your motherboard too. If you need a cable they can be bought fairly cheaply or just ask in the members market, I'm guessing lots of people have spares (myself included!).

PK!

Ditto, about 20 in a box in the garage, in amongst hundreads of sata cables and random wires :S

haha

nah i need to plug in an IDE Hard Drive, but the IDE slot is kind of covered by my 8800gt..i dont think it will fit..

The cable connector should only stick up about 1-2mm above the motherboards connector, and the cable is always right angled, so it shouldn't be a problem - you may just need to take your graphics card out to fit it!

Its a shame OcUK dont stock any cheap hard drive controllers, like a £5 PATA one or £10 SATA + PATA. They do offer a £20 ish external hard drive caddies though but still.
