hello just got a new cpu core 2 duo e8600 and a mainborad a abit ix38 quad gt it all boots up but it says my cpu runin at 103oc all the time even on a cold start .it not readin the temp right or some thing .please help thx

You probably dont have a good connection between the cpu and the fan, make sure you have thermal paste on the cpu spread out as well

I'd say you defo need to reseat your cooler and heatsink before you kill that chip.

Are you sure you put the thermal paste on?

also hope thats the bios telling you the temp, and not some external probe. I wouldn't keep going past bios start up till you sort this out...

Update the BIOS as that's a brand new CPU.
