Can any 360 controller be used on pc?

Looking at Xbox 360 controllers for playing pro evo on the pc. i notice that some sites have them listed as "for windows" or "for 360" but will any of the wireless controllers work whats the difference.

The controller needs to be hardwired (ie. not wireless) for it to work with the pc.

Yes. Any wired one can be used immediately. For wireless ones you need the wireless USB receiver. There is no difference between those two afaik, just different marketing.

Altho I think you can get ones with a wi-fi receiver now? But best to just go for the wired ones.

same thing, the 'for windows' ones come with the USB thing that plugs in to the PC so you can use the wireless controllers, which is also available separately.
the wired ones work on both as they just plug in USB

i got a 'for windows' one for my xbox because I wanted the USB thing too

The wired one has a long wire if you want to save money on the wireless
