There's a lot to like about the Bostons. As long as the impedance plot isn't too much of a roller-coaster then they'll make the most of the 30W on offer from the little class D amp in the D3020. Whether you like the sound though...
The Cambridge Audio SX50 are a little more squat. They're also an 8 Ohm 90dB speaker too. High efficiency is pretty rare in budget bookshelf speakers. Most are around 85-87dB. You're normally looking at £250+ for 90dB. The other slightly worrying trend is the increasing numbers of 6 Ohm speakers.
In the end I think you need to sit down and have a listen. Arrange a demo and take your amp along.
I recently picked up some Mission 760i speakers from the best known auction site for £40 all in. They measure 180x295x200 (WxHxD). The 760se might be worth a look if you don't mind the looks.
SX50 or Q Acoustics 2020i (the latter are exceptionally well reviewed, and in a demo comparison of them both at RicherSounds I preferred them to the SX50s). I will shortly be buying the 2020is and they will be paired with an NAD 3020A or SA770.

I decided to order the Boston Acoustic A26's on recommended reviews and a price point of £149.00 with a 15% discount. Not small at all though I won't get them until Thursday and can't wait to try them out: especially since they have been compared to the £250.00 Monitor Audio BX2's.
