Can anybody suggest what might be the problem ?

Athlon 64 3700 San Diego, 2 gig of Gskill 4000, A8N-sli Premium.

Been running rock solid for about a year with hardly a flicker with settings as follows. 255 X 11, HTT X 3, 1T3448. Suddenly whilst doing nothing more than gentle surfing the whole thing crashes and refuses to boot. I can get it runnning again with 255 X 11 and HTT X 3, but the RAM timings have to be set at AUTO. Could it be my RAM is fxxxxd ?

Try running memtest mate,it will tell you if the ram is ok or not

Set your ram timings to manual and run memtest that should tell you what the score is.

Could be the ram, could also be the memory controller.

OK this is what's happening.

The pc boots now with RAM in auto. If I try and boot in MAN , I get this message during boot up : " C\WINDOWS\System32\Config\System " and it suggests trying to repair with Windows installation disk. Don't know why this has suddenly started happening :confused:

Sounds like some how your windows install has corrupted you may have picked up a bug whilst surfing try a fresh install
