Hey guys I'm currently running a rig with an i7 920 processor in it, with 6 gig ram blah blah.
The question is, would this build work ok? If I used a asus x58 sabertooth, 24gb corsair vengeance 1600mhz ddr3, OCZ vertex 3 120gb ssd (just for windows 7) and a Asus ATI HD 6970.
With those, I want to put the NH D14 cooler on the processor. Would all of that fit and work efficiently? I have the coolermaster HAF 932 case so it's pretty spacious :D Still confused ;D

Any help or advice, thanks in advance!
Gary.

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

What Windows version are you running as some I believe only support unto 16gb, you need Ultimate edition to see all the ram.

Also why do you need 24gb ram, 6 or 12 is usually plenty.

Also the ram probably will inter fear with the cooler due to the heatsinks on them.

cheers for the reply sir and the friendly welcome :D
I am using ultimate yes so hopefully it will recognise it all. I am just going for 24 as the sticks were a good price :D
Can you recommend any other sticks around 12gb that won't interfere with that cooler as I fell in love with the colour straight away :D
If the price is around 150 maybe 200 for 12gb then that's perfect!
Would really appreciate it.

win7home recognises up to 16GB RAM, win7pro and win7ultimate recognise up to 196GB RAM. the OP has ultimate so as you said theres no problems there

greeee, what will you be doing with the PC? if its just gaming i'd save your money becauase very few games can use more than 4GB RAM, let alone all the stuff your planning to put in there.

also, for the cooler i;d recommend you get the thermalright silver arrow, because it performs within 0.25C of the noctua NH-D14, but is £20 cheaper

RJC thanks for the link I might be seeing this a little late but I'm sure I can find something similar if I base it on the same specs etc.

Reaper, I will be using it throughout uni developing games etc so I just want to have something a bit faster than I already have. I've seen the silver arrow before and thought it looked good too! Will that fit with most ram as well due to the massive fans etc?
Thanks for the replies so far guys! Appreciate it massively.

Edit: also do you think there's any chance of these working with the coolers above? Might be a silly question but I love the look of them! http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-306-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1392
