There's a voice that keeps on calling me.
Hey guys, im stopping down near Heathrow tomorrow night, just wondering if any one can specify a decent restaurant near there, Im staying at the Ramada, but im not a big fan of hotel food.

Plus as i'll have a work colleague with me and we have no real limit on what we spend, i dont mind pushing the boat out.........on my companies behalf:p

I love indian food, but dont mind anything really and dont mind travelling a little.

Anyone got any recommendations?

Sipson Tandoori. Classy joint. Not exactly the best place to take a work colleague but the food is awesome.

Classy is what im after. But doesnt look so classy from the website?

Yeah I was being sarcastic. :p

It's been so long since I lived up there. Would you take a taxi out to Windsor? It's about 15-20 minutes away. Again, it's been a while since I lived there but there are quite a few more options. My favourite is Charlies Horse. It's a Mexican joint down under the arches. The food was some of the best Mexican I've had this side of the pond and they have an awesome tequila selection.

Or do you want even classier, i.e. fine dining?

£25 taxi might get you to Bray or Marlow for some Michelin starred dining in Berkshire.

Otherwise, you could just as easily go in to central/West London.

Im not drinking so dont mind a drive, just not more than a 20-25 min drive.

My colleagues from Germany, Ive done the gastro pub thing to death,so fancied something nice.

Windsors and idea, i'd forgotten about there.

If you're in the Heathrow area and you like Indian food then Southall is only 5-10 mins away by car. Its not going to be Michelin star but its going to be a lot more authentic than the curry houses that are in areas where no South Asians actually live.

The most popular are TKC, Gifto's Lahore Karahi, Mirch Masala, and Spice Village (family favourite) which are all opposite/next to one another on Broadway.

Southall isn't the first place to come to mind when you want a fancy dinner with a colleague flying in from Germany. :p

You could drive up to Chiswick (Should be <20mins) and try for a table at either Hedone or La Trompette (but check if you can get a table at either before you travel).

Both are fantastic and should offer scope to abuse the corporate card.

If you are after a good curry then the Brilliant (Southall) or Memories of India (Osterley) are the places to head to. They arnt starred places but are nice enough to take a work colleague, Memories if my fave out of the pair.

Chiswick is a good shout, 20ish mins from the Ramada and has some great places as mentioned. Charlottes Bistro is worth a look in as well.

It is if you still hold a grudge against the 'Gerries' or anyone else for that matter :D. It would be worth it just to see the look on their face as they enter the 90's decor establishment with greasy tables and then say "only joking!" and get back in the cab to the real reservation.
