Screen cracked a few months ago I replaced screen but there was a hairline gap at the bottom of the screen where it slots into the frame. Over time this small gap resulted in the second screen cracking(you live and learn), at first a hairline crack. However it was still usable, the cracks got larger over time and the screen starts freezing up for a few seconds at a time then ok again. This cycle got worse over coming days/weeks until one day the screen froze and I waited until it unfroze, jiggling the screen a bit. It never unfroze and I thought I'd just buy another screen which I did.
Now before I put this second screen in I noticed that charging the phone with no screen gave me a flashing charging LED whereas it should be solid, then after a day or so the flashing went back to solid and now days later for the most part I get nothing when I plug the cable in to charge, no flashing or solid. But every now and again I'll plug the USB cable in to test and I get a solid charging light which lasts maybe a minute then goes out.
It's either the motherboard, the battery or the charging dock board on the phone.
Could a cracked screen cause these kinds of problems it doesn't really make sense, I should have just had to replace second screen then back to normal but something has gone wrong. Could the cracked screen have caused some circuitry to fry?
All I can do is try another charging port board and new battery and if these don't work then it's the motherboard.
Any ideas?
