The reason I ask is that i'm having some serious Lock Up issues again and i've never seen this LED on my Mobo before when i've opened up my case to clean it..

Any ideas?

I dont really know. But the fact that its on while the PC is off indicates it may be something to do with (or connected to) the BIOS battery.

It's a Dell XPS 650i really not sure which mobo it even uses...

The crash also is just a complete lockup. It's happening whilst playing Star Trek Online... before today i've had Lock Up issues but not this frequent..

A lot of motherboards have an LED to say the power is connected. Could just be that.

I would run memtest and some disk checking utilities.

Yup, pretty much all the ASUS boards i've used for the past few years have had an LED to warn you the board has standby power, so you don't forget to unplug the main/turn it off properly before changing the memory modules etc:p

Although some motherboards also have an LED (or more than one) to give a status indicator either for the system as a whole (green Ok, red bad, or even a code), or to show that individual cards are seated properly :)
