Can anyone give me a bit of info on this?

The bonnet line looks a bit off?

Has it not got the wrong lights to be an import? My Honda knowledge is poor so I will prob be wrong here.

As far as I can tell it's not an R. It's definitely not JDM so I dunno what they're talking about there. And there seems to be a bit of MS Paint "Photoshopping" going on near the wheel in one of the pics. Think I'll steer clear.

I'm thinking of spending £1500 to £2000 and I'd like something with VTEC. Yes, I've changed my mind! I want something that'll handle as well as my 205, maybe have a bit more (torqueless!) power, and have the old Honda reliability. I'm sick of bits dropping off my Pug.

Er, I'm also quite interested in MR2s, what can I expect for this sort of money? Is the performance of the N/A MR2s decent? Anyone got any figures?

Rev1/2 MK2. 154BHP 0-60 7.2 secs ish.

That is a JDM Si, still the 1.8 B18 engine, think they are 180bhp, more refined than the type R but also heavier and less power, no lsd so not quite as quick, should still be good though, im guessing 0-60 will be 7 seconds or less.

You'll be able to pick up a 5dr or 3dr VTI for that money. The 5dr comes with a LSD, and the B18C4 engine.

But i'm biased.

Coming from a 205 GTI, I think he'd enjoy a VTI. They are very much "Thrash me, THRASH ME" engines like the 1.6 XU in the 205.

Its a Teg Si-VTEC which is a JDM only model, its only 96 onwards they swapped to the square headlights with the 4 round ones appearing for the UK, Europe and US market Type R in 1998.

180bhp and some will have a viscous diff. Its certainly a more road biased Teg, 5k its has nearly 20ftlb more than the R.

Great cars though and cheaper than CRX's!

That's not so bad! Will I be able to pick up a tidy Rev2 (I understand I'm less likely to die in one of these) within budget?
In the MR2 range, you'll get a good condition rev2 or an ok condition rev3. I've only driven the rev3 and although it has more power it is also heavier as it's got a few extra bits (like ABS, P/S and extra support welded in). For figures, my rev3 RR'd at 177BHP a couple of weeks ago with an ind.kit and decat & S/S-backbox.

You should be able to find a good condition one in budget, however if bits start falling off then it'll cost at least twice the amount as your pug to put right...

92-96 Prelude 2.2 VTEC

It may not handle quite as well as the Pug (as it's a bit larger/heavier), but they do still give the ~£6k Integra Type-R's a run for their money on trackdays! ;)

:(

Throw an mi16 with superbike throttlebodies (and remapped ECU) in the 205. :)
