just saying this first, a total noob when it comes to understanding PC's.

Im hearing a strange noise from my case. it sounds like a "whirring" out of sync and has been getting noiser than it normally is. so im thinking its the CPU Fan/Heatsink.

Now i (think) i need a replacement and i have no idea what fan size it is, i know its a LGA1155, i run a i3 2120 3.30ghz. My tower is a Xigmatek Asgard Midi Tower Case - Black. and my GPU is a MSI HD 7750 2gig gddr3, power supply is a OCZ Core Xtreme 500w '80 Plus'.

I need to know what fan size i can fit it for a replacement. seen many nice looking fans but i dont know if they are the right size/power consumption.

Thanks.

Edit: opened up my case and listened around.. my GPU fan is making a strange tinny high pitch noise when i get close to it. something i should be worried about? my CPU fan it doing the same sound but much less frequant and lower pitch.

that sound is normal, its slight coil whine

it wont hurt anything,is that what your hearing? or is it the fan aswell

I cant hear the fans doing anything much... unless its my imagination that they sound a little "out of sync" when spinning. i cant physically see it tho.

Edit: its grating on my ears, the "coil whine" im going insane listening to it. any way to fix it?

is it really loud? it cant be fixed other than swap the gpu for another,or psu

can be either of those, can also be the motherboard aswell

ocz don't make great psu's btw,is it a new or old one? could be that

its pretty much normal to hear slight coil whine from the side of the case, and esp in game menu's where the card is running very high frames per second, but it shouldn't be heard in actual gameplay
