Can anyone help? Looking for that code to create a web browser

You might all remember, when you could buy the version of windows with no IE, someones first question was how can you download a browser of your choice if there is no browser to browse with.

Someone came up with a nifty code you put into notepad and it basically made a quick browser for you pointed at google. I'm sure it had some ieframe stuff in.

Am I barking mad, or can someone help me find it?

These days I usually save a folder with all my setup files. When I need to make a new installation of Windows I manually update them before hand.

I think there are some apps that do this. You could n'lite it as well I think.
 
Ah, only reason I needed it is because a friend of mine has Vista. I fixed the laptop, format, new install and it was all working fine. They say they can't access the internet or get emails but it connects to their router and they can ping google. I wanted to check the browser wasn't mashed.

Then they told me that had installed Norton, but had disabled the firewall to check. What's the bet, it still transpires it's Norton causing the issues
 
I know. The reason I did it, was because when MS released Windows 7 N without the browser, there was no way to get on to the internet. So, I knocked that up to at least let me download stuff. Obviously, it offers no protection from pop ups and the like so you have to know what you're doing.

I think my issue is now Norton conflictiing with MSE.
