Can anyone help me out with my zone alarm?

Hi everyone i have the free edidtion of zone alarm the thing is i have looked the my security centre and it says i have had 1800 intrusion attempts but no high realted ones is that right how could i have had so many? is it anything to do with when u dload files or something?

please help many thanks
 
How long has it been installed?

Are you connecting to the internet via a modem or router?

Are you connected to a LAN with any other PC's?

If you look under 'Alerts & Logs' and choose Firewall, you can see exactly what the attempted intrusion was and where it originated.
 
The majority of Zonealarm intrusions are websites requesting info from you when you look at them, very few, if any are hacker related.
 
Zonealarm is fine as a firewall, i sued it for three years before moving to a router and windows firewall.

If it wasnt any good it wouldnt of recorded all those intrusion alarms :D

The only problem i had with it is when gaming. Make sure you give access to the game before you load it, some games ask for permission twice. Once before the game loads and another once its loaded, the one that occurs once its loaded can cause your PC to freeze.

1800 is normal, you musn't have had it on long if theres only that many as it counts up all the time, so don't worry about it as its normal as said, it will go a lot, lot higher than that, ive seen over well 200,000 when i was using it. :D

you do realise that switching to norton is not gonna stop these intrusion attacks, and that the only reason they showed up on zone alarm is that they were caught?
