ive just had my new pc built by a fairly well know and reccomended company in most pc mags
alls well, had a couple of issues, onboard sound issue and blue screen and a pink screen issue. ive spoken with tech support and they have told me to check the card is in correct etc etc, done that and it still does it blue screen ( not all the time tho ) but thats not the point
my question is
when i call them on monday, hopefully they will send me a replacement card. am i within my right to ask not to have the same card on have a different one ( msi, bfg ) etc etc
reason im asking this is not being given the choice on what 8800gt i was getting during my build stage on the order via web, ive tried to do various things you would do with your card temp readings and fan speed, and have discoverd that my card doesnt have the ability to give me speeds and temps.
now given the demand of current games ( the joy that is crysis and ut 3 ) being able to see your temp is a major must am i right in saying.
can anyone advise please

many thanks guys in advance and for all your help with my other questions so far !

I would post what os your using as to blue and pink screens, you need to say when you getting them in like surfing or games or desktop,if it a new build i would ring them up monday as it under warranty?.

using xp, screens happend, surfing, crysis ( 30mins ), and idle ( desktop )
yes its under 3 year with 1 year replacement parts

Obviously You paid a company to build a PC for You because You don't have the knowledge or time to do it Yourself...Correct ?
Well it is reasonable to have expected them to test that system before they shipped it...Why should You have to debug it Yourself ?
Get them to pick it up and finish the Job ;)

yeah they checked it and it unwent a burn in phase and passed. put im sure that they dont test it like you would at home ( games for 3 - 4 hours etc etc )
i will be phoning in the morning to rant
